Ger C. Bout

Ger C. Bout (1950-2017) was known in Rotterdam for his projects “De Visser aan de Charloisse Hoofd” and “De Kleurrijk tulpen” (The Colorful Tulips). Both were projects realized in collaboration with students from vocational training programs.

After his death, friends described him as follows:
“Ger has great curiosity for the world around him and beyond. Explore the world through his eyes and feel enriched.”

At the time of his death, he was well advanced in several photo series. “Beyond the Moon,” parts of which are also on display at Huis der Zotheid, were presented by Upominki at CO-OP Unseen in 2018.
Other photo series included portraits of women, color studies, river landscapes, still lifes, and flowers. Several previously unseen works from these are now being presented.

Germaine Sanders

Germaine Sanders explores in her drawings, the dynamics between people, space, and nature. Drawing as a way of thinking and the interplay of rhythm, lines, and patterns do fascinate her most. To see the world, everybody and everything, by sensibly perceiving what’s happening around you.

Look around you, up and down, look inward and outward, and keep asking yourself what you’re thinking of and how you feel. She became an architect and worked in different cultures. In the drawing language, science and art merge easily.

Drawings to translate invisibility into ideas, form, and emotions.

Matthijs Waardenburg

The sculptures by Matthijs Waardenburg are self portraits without a traditional meaning of recognition.
He hides in his images and appears in a elegant stature to seduce the viewer, like the Greek gods gave way to their desire.
His work starts of with a intro perspective thought and is transformed into a body, skin, a pose.
Fierce and intimate.
